ADDITIONAL FUNDS ADDED TO KRIEGEL MEMORIAL

The Citizens Scholarship Foundation of BGM (a Dollars for Scholars Chapter) received $1,500.00 from the family of Claras and Lloyd Kriegel.  This additional money will now make the permanent scholarship into a separate fund within the Foundation.

Lloyd and Claras had twelve children, with 6 still in the Brooklyn area.  Paul Kriegel, Ruth Solem, La Verne Kriegel, Virginia Ricketts, Rita Ochs, and Anne McCulley all of Brooklyn.  Dolores Kron, Riverside, Nancy Miner, Waukee, Alvin Kriegel, Cedar Rapids, Barbara Kelley, Ames and Raymond Kriegel, Tama reside in Iowa, and Janice Eggert, Madison, Wisc.

The family had mentioned in the past, when Claras had started the scholarship, that she wanted to do something in Lloyd’s memory and felt that it was important to get a good education.  The family has continued on with her wishes and has built the permanent scholarship into the separate fund.

The Foundation is grateful to the family of Claras and Lloyd Kriegel for their continued support over the years.  With your help and encouragement all students wishing to continue onto a higher education will be helped and challenged to be the best they can be.

Anyone wishing to add to a memorial or any of the other funds within the Foundation please contact Rich Carmichael, Board of Trustee representative for the Brooklyn Ruritan, or any other Board member.  You can also write to Box 469, Brooklyn, IA  52211.
