SCHOLARSHIP MONEY SENT OUT BY CSF
The Citizens Scholarship Foundation of BGM (a Dollars for Scholars Chapter) has mailed the scholarship money of $22,900.00 to all students who have scholarship money coming, if the paperwork was processed.
The $22,900.00 is comprised of 51 checks being mailed of which 19 checks were sent to the Class of 2002 in the amount of $500 each for a total of $9,500.00. The remaining checks were distributed with 23 checks mailed to the Class of 2001 in the amount of $10,440.00, the Class of 2000 in the amount of $2,377.00, and the Class of 1999 receiving $583.00.
There were 7 members of the Class of 2002 who did not return their paperwork. If you have any questions regarding your scholarship money, please contact J.C. Miller at 522-9206 (work).
It’s the Foundations policy that scholarship money will be paid not exceeding $500 per semester. If you received a scholarship of $1,200 for example, you would receive $500 in the fall of 2002, $500 at the beginning of 2003, and then the remainder in the fall of 2003.
Please remember you also have one year to start using the scholarship awarded. For those students who received a scholarship in May 2002 you have until August 15, 2003 to start using it. Scholarships not used will then be transferred into the Elsie & Skip Motes Second Chance Fund or other funds as directed by the Board of Trustees. The exception to the one-year rule is if the student enters the Armed Forces of the United States then they have one year after being released from active duty to use the scholarship.
If you would like to be a part of the Foundation in any way, or would like to make a contribution to the Foundation, please contact Marcia Braley, Board of Trustee representative for the PEO, or any other board member. You can also write to Box 469, Brooklyn, IA 52211.
