$500 CONTRIBUTION RECEIVED FROM BROOKLYN KIWANIS CLUB
The Citizens Scholarship Foundation of BGM (a Dollars for Scholars Chapter) received a check for $500 from the Brooklyn Kiwanis Club.
The Brooklyn Kiwanis Club supports many local projects such as the After Prom Party, the outstanding BGM senior each month, Kids Club, the Bi-Annual Blood Drive co-sponsored with TTT’s, the Kiwanis reading program which 3 different people per month read to students in pre-school to 1st grade, and the Kiwanis senior citizens Christmas dinner. At the end of the school year the Kiwanis will also recognize the outstanding Industrial Arts student at a breakfast and they will receive a recognition award for their achievements. The Kiwanis Club also holds different types of fundraisers, such as the Annual Chicken BBQ and Poinsettia sale in December, which the proceeds received from these fund raisers go towards supporting projects the Kiwanis Club undertakes. Two of those projects have been donations to the playground fund for the new elementary playground equipment and to Camp Courageous. Your support or membership is welcomed and always appreciated.
The Foundation is grateful to the Kiwanis Club including all it’s members for their continued support of the foundation over the years, as well as their community involvement.
This year’s donation level is down from past years. Helping students should be a concern of everyone. If you are still thinking about making a donation to the foundation and you itemize your deductions, you need to remember to make the donation before the end of the year.
Anyone or organization wishing to make a donation to the foundation please contact, Ruth Wagner, board of trustee representative for the Brooklyn Kiwanis Club, or any other board member. You can also write to Box 469, Brooklyn, IA 52211.
