PIE CONTINUES TO DONATE TO PRESCHOOL FUND

 

 

The CSF of BGM (a Dollars for Scholars Chapter) received a donation from the Elementary Partners In Education (PIE) in the amount of $10,000 in mid-October.  Due to the success of recent fundraisers, PIE was able to present another $10,000 toward the preschool fund.  This is the group’s 4th contribution for a total of $31,500 over the past 2 years.  Currently, the endowment fund stands at $88,000, which is nearing the foundations goal of $100,00 to permanently fund the preschool scholarship.

 

            The preschool endowment fund was established by CSF in 2000 due to a tuition increase in the preschool program.  Each child entering preschool at BGM Elementary receives an automatic $200 scholarship to be used toward preschool tuition fees regardless of the financial status of the family.  Preschool students have already been receiving these scholarships since the 2001-2002 school year.  PIE believes this is money well spent and is proud to be a contributing part of this fund.  It is their hope that other organizations and individuals will take note of their enthusiasm toward this project and contribute as well.

 

            In addition to donating to CSF, PIE has contributed toward field trip expenses, purchased Reading Counts books for 1st – 6th grades, purchased reading materials for the kindergarten classes, gave the elementary staff money to purchase needed items for their classrooms, purchased recycling bins for each elementary classroom, and raised all the money toward the purchase of playground equipment in 2001. The Foundation is grateful to PIE for their continued support.  Through your contributions and help there is hope for our students.
