August 13, 2004 NEWS RELEASE
SCHOLARSHIP MONEY SENT OUT BY CSF
The Citizens Scholarship Foundation of BGM (a Dollars for Scholars Chapter) has mailed the scholarship money of $22,201.75 to all students who have scholarship money coming, if the paperwork was processed. This includes the 1st year, 2nd year, and 3rd year scholarships.
This spring in the Class of 2004, 50 graduates received scholarships. There are still 18 who have not yet returned their paperwork. If you have any questions regarding your scholarship money, please contact Becky Edelen at 614-522-9206 (work).
For those kids receiving a 1st year scholarship, it’s the Foundations policy that scholarship money will be paid not exceeding $500 per semester. If you received a scholarship of $1,200 for example, you would receive $500 in the fall of 2004, $500 at the beginning of 2005, and then the remainder in the fall of 2005.
Please remember you also have one year to start using the scholarship awarded. For those students who received a scholarship in May of 2004, you have until August 2005 to start using it. Scholarships not used will then be transferred into the 3rd Year Scholarship Fund. The exception to the one-year rule is if the student enters the Armed Forces of the United States, then they have one year after being released from active duty to use the scholarship.
If you would like to be a part of the Foundation in any way, or would like to make a contribution to the Foundation, please contact Becky Edelen, Board of Trustee representative for TTT, or any other board member. You can also write to Box 469, Brooklyn, IA 52211.
