CSF Fall Happenings
Students and board members alike have been keeping busy this fall.

The CSF of BGM Annual Fall board meeting was held Sept 6 in the high school library. The officers were elected as follows:
President – Julie Cline
Vice President – Dorthea Hicks
Secretary – Jane McCulley
Co-Treasurers – Jane Cline and Jodie Ryan
Our usual fall business was conducted including assigning committee chairs and setting the calendar for our various activities during the year.
On Sunday, October 1, a total of nine walkers/runners represented CSF of BGM in the Governor’s Cup Race and Walk for Dollars for Scholars. The run/walk was held in Des Moines starting and ending at Terrace Hill. The two runners were Julie Klein and Kaila Reever, the seven walkers were Crystal Klein, Amy Cline, Kevin Arens, Kate Kalambahati, Cameron Farmer, Julie Cline, and Duane Cline. Crystal represented BGM by wearing the bear mascot. The participants were also awarded a $500 scholarship from Kirkwood Community College to be used for the 2007-2008 school year. Crystal Klein and Kevin Arens were each awarded a $100 scholarship sponsored by VMF Capital for their participation in this year’s walk.

On Saturday, Oct 28, the freshman class participated in Make A Difference Day. Twenty-three students collected non-perishable food items for the Brooklyn Food Pantry and $290 for scholarships designated for their class to be awarded when they graduate. The group helped fill the shelves at the food pantry which will help out for this holiday season.
