SCHOLARSHIP
APPLICATIONS PASSED OUT
On March 1, 2000 the Citizens
Scholarship Foundation of BGM (a Dollars for Scholar Chapter) passed out
scholarship applications to those seniors wishing to apply for a
scholarship. There are 43 graduating
seniors this year. The application must
be filled out and returned on or before March 28, 2000.
The application must be returned to
the Foundation or Neil VanErsvelde at the High School building on or before the
deadline of March 28, 2000. The
deadline date is “APPLICATION NIGHT”.
If you want your parents financial information reviewed by a CPA from
Des Moines, you and/or your parents MUST attend the application meeting on
Tuesday, March 28, 2000, between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. in the BGM High School
gym. Your application MUST BE TURNED IN
BY THAT NIGHT. If you cannot be there,
you may turn in your application form with a signed copy of your parent’s Federal
Tax return (with W-2’s attached) BEFORE March 28, 2000 to Mr. VanErsvelde or J.C.
Miller and it will be reviewed by the outside representative. Please insert all paperwork in a sealed
envelope if you will not be bringing it to application night. The copy of the parent’s tax return will be
returned to you if you enclose a stamped self addressed envelope. Otherwise, it will be shredded.
The Award Committee, chaired by
Dorthea Hicks, will meet soon after Applications Night to score the scholarship
applications. If anyone is interested
in assisting with the scoring of the applications, please contact Dorthea
(685-6482). Please remember, if you
have any relation graduating in May 2000, you can not serve on the Awards
Committee this year.
Awards Night will be held on May 17,
2000 at the BGM High School gym. This
is your chance once again to show your support for the graduating seniors by
attending Awards Night. YOU have made a
difference with your contributions and support so please come and attend Awards
Night and be a part of the ceremony.
Anyone wishing to make a contribution
to the Foundation, please contact Neil VanErsvelde, member at large for the
Board of Trustees, or any other board member.
You can also write to Box 469, Brooklyn, IA 52211.
