SCHOLARSHIP MONEY SENT OUT BY CSF
The Citizens Scholarship Foundation of BGM (a Dollars for Scholars Chapter) has mailed scholarship money of $21,265.00 to all students who have scholarship money coming, if the paperwork was processed.
The $21,265.00 is made up of three different scholarship periods. They are 18- 1999 regular scholarships totaling $8,830.00, 4 - 1998 regular scholarships totaling $935.00, and 23 - 2000 regular scholarships totaling $11,500.00, these scholarships were sent to each student who applied and filled out their paperwork.
Of the 1999 graduates who received a scholarship, there are 8 who have not requested their funds. Of the 2000 graduates there are 7 who have not applied for their funds. Please contact J.C. Miller at 522-9206 (work) if you have any questions about your scholarship money.
It’s the Foundations policy that scholarship money not exceed $500.00 per semester. If you received a scholarship over $1,200.00, for example, you would receive $500.00 in the fall of 2000, $500.00 at the beginning of 2001, and then the remainder if under $500.00 in the fall of 2001.
Please remember you also have one (1) year to start using the scholarship awarded. for those students who received a scholarship in May 2000 you have until August 15, 2001 to start to use it. Scholarships not used are then transferred into the Elsie & Skip Motes Second Chance Fund. The exception to the one rule is if the students enter the Armed Forces of the United States then they have one year after being released from active duty to use the scholarship.
When you support CSF of BGM, you help open doors to education. You are telling our students we believe in them, have confidence in their ability, and support their efforts to better themselves and their community. You are helping to make that difference.
