CONTRIBUTION RECEIVED IN MEMORY OF GORDON SPEASE

The Citizens Scholarship Foundation of BGM (a Dollars for Scholars Chapter) received a check for $150.00 for Gordon Spease from his wife Julie.

Julie and the late Gordon Spease have lived at Holiday Lake for almost 30 years having moved there after retiring from Younkers Brothers.  A favorite pastime of Gordon’s was fishing which he really loved to do.

Gordon went to Fremont Nebraska High School and had received a 4 year scholarship for his singing abilities.  He went to the University of Lincoln Nebraska for two years before he quit.  Gordon joined the army in October 15, 1940 in Grand Island, Nebraska and was in active duty in Africa during WWII.  He retired from the army in 1945.

Julie had mentioned that Gordon loved kids and would be very pleased that she donated some money to the CSF of BGM for a scholarship to help another graduate to continue onto a higher education.

The Foundation is grateful to Julie for her contribution.  Your contributions to the CSF of BGM will help some graduating senior with a scholarship, by helping them to go onto a higher education.

Anyone wishing to make a contribution to the Foundation please contact J. C. Miller, President and Member at Large to CSF, or any other board member.  You can also write to Box 469, Brooklyn, IA  52211.
