MEMORIAL FOR RENE AND ELNA
SEYE INCREASED
The
Citizens Scholarship Foundation of BGM (a Dollars for Scholar Chapter) received
a $400.00 contribution for the Rene and Elna Seye memorial. The family is working towards building this
memorial to a permanent scholarship level.
Rene
and Elna Seye moved to Guernsey in the early 50's and had two girls. Bev (King) and Bonnie (Ritchie). Elna was a teacher and taught in Guernsey
and then BGM when the school system combined where she retired in 1970. Rene had to work to make a living and was
unable to go to school. He realized how
important an education could be and was always pushing his children and
grandchildren to get their education.
The
Foundation wants to thank the family of Rene and Elna Seye for the
contribution. This contribution will
always be a part of the Foundation and will help to encourage all our graduates
to continue their education.
All
your contributions help in making the Foundation grow. Each year we hope everyone will continue
their support and a few new contributors will help out as well. The Foundation is a community project
everyone can be proud of. You have come
together to help our graduating seniors pursue higher education with a
scholarship.
Anyone
wishing to make a contribution to the Foundation please contact Julie Grier,
Board of Trustee representative for Guernsey Commercial Club, or any other
board member. You can also write to Box
469, Brooklyn, Iowa 52211.
