T.I.P. RURAL ELECTRIC COOP DONATES TO PRESCHOOL FUND

The CSF of BGM (a Dollars for Scholars Chapter) received a donation from the T.I.P. R.E.C. for $3500.00.  This donation has been applied towards the $100,000 endowment fund the Foundation would like to raise over the next three years to permanently support scholarships for the preschool children.

A tuition increase for the preschool program started the incentive to get an endowment fund established within the community.  Each child will be charged $400 with the balance to be paid by a scholarship from CSF to be used towards the preschool tuition fees regardless of financial status of the parents.  The scholarship will be paid directly to the school when the parents fees are paid.  CSF has received $3000 from the R.J. McElroy Trust of Waterloo to fund these scholarships for the 2001 – 2002 school year.

Darrell Heetland, General Manager of T.I.P. R.E.C. commented that the endowment fund was an excellent way to help our preschool children and to encourage parents to send their children to preschool within our own community.  T.I.P. R.E.C. wanted to help get the endowment fund started and felt by contributing to this fund was an excellent way to also help the preschool.

The Foundation is grateful to T.I.P. R.E.C. for their donation.  The goal of CSF is to raise an endowment fund of $100,000 over the next three years that will earn 5% interest, bringing $5000 per year available money to fund the preschool scholarships.  To accomplish this goal we need everyone’s assistance to get this endowment fund established.

Anyone wishing to make a contribution to the preschool scholarship fund or any of the other endowment funds within the Foundation can contact Dennis Smith, Board of Trustee representative for the Ministrial Association, or any other board member.  You can also write to Box 469, Brooklyn, IA  52211.
