January 15, 1998 NEWS RELEASE
ACTIVITIES FOR THE CITIZENS SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION OF BGM
Over the next three to four months the Citizens Scholarship Foundation of BGM (a Dollars for Scholar Chapter) will be very busy. The school year for seniors will be coming to an end.
Upcoming dates you need to put on your calendar are: March 2, 1998, the Foundation will hand out applications to the seniors at the High School. March 25 is Applications Night. All applications need to be returned, as this is the deadline. May 20, 1998 will be Awards Night. This will be your opportunity to come and show your appreciation and support for our seniors.
June will bring other date’s to keep in mind. The beginning of June the 2nd year scholarship applications will be sent to all 1997 graduates who received a scholarship in May of 1997. The deadline to have them returned will be June 30, 1998. Also in June the Second Chance Loan applications will be available. The deadline for the Second Chance Loan will be on June 30, 1998. The Second Chance Loan is available to all who graduated from BGM over 5 years ago or to anyone living currently in the BGM School District.
Your contributions do make a difference. Through your help our seniors going on to higher education will receive a scholarship to help them. These scholarships are just one way we can show our students that we do care and want them to be the best they can be. Another way you can show our students that you care is by attending Awards Night.
Anyone wishing to make a contribution to the Foundation please contact Julie Cline, Board of Trustee representative for the City of Malcom, or any other Board member. You can also write to Box 469, Brooklyn, Iowa 52211.
