PERMANENT SCHOLARSHIP LEVEL REACHED BY GORDON WOLD

Gordon Wold former President of the Poweshiek County Savings Bank has reached the permanent scholarship level with the Citizens Scholarship Foundation of BGM (a Dollars for Scholar Chapter) with his personal giving of over $2,500.00.

Back in 1990 Gordon Wold on behaif of the Poweshiek County Savings Bank pledged $5,000.00 as matching funds to the Foundation. A comment printed at that time by J.C. Miller, president of the Citizens Scholarship Foundation of BGM was, "This is a terrific way of doubling our moneys". The article also went on to print an envision by Gordon Wold that the Foundation would have an endowment of over $500,000.00 within 5 to 10 years.

Gordon continued his $5,000.00 matching funds and in the following year he made this comment, "I encourage people to remember the Foundation in their annual contribution and also in their wills. When this all started I envisioned an endowment of over $500,000.00, a vision that is now foreseeable".

In 1992 Gordon told us, "It is gratifying to witness the support the community and others have given the CSF of BGM these past years. If we as a community can assist those worthy students who want to pursue higher education, what a better future we will all have".

Gordon, your envision has become a reality.

The Foundation wants to say a big thank-you to Gordon Wold for his continued support personally as well as his past support from the bank. Also for Gordons encouragement for everyone to continue their support to the CSF of BGM.

Your contributions do make a difference. Through your help our seniors going on to higher education will receive a scholarship to help them. These scholarships are just one way we can show our students that we do care and want them to be the best they can be. Another way you can show our students that you care is by attending Awards Night.

Anyone wishing to make a contribution to the Foundation please contact Jan Read, Treasurer for the CSF of BGM and Board of Trustee representative for the BGM School Board of Brooklyn, or any other Board member. You can also write to Box 469, Brooklyn, Iowa 52211.
