CSF OF BGM RECEIVES MEMORIAL FROM LLOYD J. & CLARAS A. KRIEGEL FAMILY

 

The Citizens Scholarship Foundation of BGM a (Dollars for Scholars Chapter) received $2500.00 from Claras and the late Lloyd Kriegel to establish a permanent scholarship in their name.

Lloyd and Claras had twelve children, with 6 still in the Brooklyn area. Paul Kriegel, Ruth Solem, LuVerne Kriegel, Virginia Ricketts, Rita Ochs, and Ann McCulley all of Brooklyn. Dolores Kron, Riverside, Nancy Miner, Waukee, Alvin Kriegel, Cedar Rapids, and Raymond Kriegel, Chelsea reside in Iowa, and Janice Eggert, Madison, Wisc. and Barbra Kelley, Le Seur, Minn.

Recently visiting with Virginia Ricketts as to why she felt her mother wanted to set up a permanent scholarship, she said that Claras wanted to do something in Lloyd’s memory and felt it was important to get a good education. Lloyd never got to finish school and she just wanted to help todays kids to go onto higher education. All of Lloyd and Claras Kriegel’s children have graduated from BGM along with several grandchildren. Several of the children attended college and now several of the grandchildren are attending college and have benefitted from the scholarships awarded from CSF.
