June 18, 1998 NEWS RELEASE
NEWS FROM THE CITIZENS SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION OF BGM
A new ruling for those graduating seniors, entering the military service, will be in effect starting July 1, 1998 as a part of the Citizens Scholarship Foundation of BGM ( a Dollars for Scholar Chapter ).
The new rule states: That any graduate of BGM that enters any Military Service of the United States of America shall receive an exemption of the one year rule to use the scholarship. This exemption shall be for the time the recipient is on active duty. The one year rule will not start until the graduate is released from active duty.
Each graduate must notify the Citizens Scholarship Foundation of BGM that they are entering active military duty and that they request exemption for Military Service.
Upon release from Military Service, the graduate must notify the CSF of BGM of their release from active military service and provide evidence of their service in the armed forces of the United States of America.
Upon receipt of the notice from the graduate, the CSF of BGM will start the one year rule. The graduate must then provide the acceptance letter from the post-secondary education institution that they will be attending.
Another year for the Foundation is coming to a close. It has been a very exciting year and receiving the Golden Tassel Award from the National CSFA is a testimony to the great support all of you have provided. Pat yourselves on the back because you all deserve it. Well done and congratulations.
Anyone wishing to make a contribution to the Foundation please contact Steve Stumpff, Secretary for the CSF of BGM, or any other Board member. You can also write to Box 469, Brooklyn, Iowa 52211.
The saying for the week is: Our attitude at the beginning of a task will effect its outcome more than anything else.
