MEMORIAL FOR RENE AND ELNA SEYE INCREASED
The Citizens Scholarship Foundation of BGM (a Dollars for Scholar Chapter) received a $500.00 contribution for the Rene and Elna Seye memorial. The family is working towards building this memorial to the permanent scholarship level.
Rene and Elna Seye moved to Guernsey in the early 50's and had two girls, Bev (King) and Bonnie (Ritchie). Elna was a teacher and taught in Guernsey and then BGM when the school system combined where she retired in 1970. Rene, who had to work to make a living was unable to go to school, was always pushing his children and grandchildren to get their education. He realized the importance of education.
The Foundation wants to thank the family of Rene and Elna Seye for the contribution. This contribution will always be a part of the Foundation and will help to encourage all our graduates to continue their education.
The annual appeal letter and reports have been mailed. If you or anyone you know did not receive one and would like to, please contact the Foundation at PO Box 469.
Anyone wishing to add to a memorial or any other fund within the Foundation please contact Mrs. Marvin (Dorothea) Hicks, Board of Trustee representative for the Guernsey Alumni Association, or any other Board member. You can also write to Box 469, Brooklyn, Iowa 52211.
Saying for the week is: No gift is too small to give, nor too simple to receive, if it's chosen with
thoughtfulness and given with love.
