CSF OF BGM'S SECOND CHANCE FUND
The Citizens Scholarship Foundation of BGM ( a Dollars for Scholar Chapter ) has a Second Chance Fund which is a Scholarship Loan Fund with a mission "To encourage higher education for those who did not pursue it upon graduation form High School".
Applications are being accepted now.
Deadline for applications to be returned is June 30, 1998.
Some of the major rules for the Second Chance Scholarship Fund are:
1. Must have graduated from High School at least Four (4) years prior to opening day of classes of the post-secondary school. If not a High School graduate, then applicant must complete High School or a GED program before applying for the Scholarship Loan.
2. Applications will be based on an application scoring system and an interview.
3. Successful applicant could apply for additional assistance each following year if a grade point average of 2.5 is maintained. Maximum of 5 scholarship loans over a five year period to any one person.
4. The applicant must be from the area served by the BGM School District and/or a graduate from the BGM School District.
5. There is a loan repayment schedule set up.
6. All applications shall be requested from the Citizens Scholarship Foundation of BGM. No application may be handed out by any other organization or individuals other than the Foundation.
7. This program is intended for various two year degree programs, or less, as well as four year degree programs.
