CONTRIBUTION RECEIVED IN MEMORY OF OPAL & CLAIRE MEYER
The Citizens Scholarship Foundation of BGM a (Dollars for Scholars Chapter) received a check for $1,000.00 from Marilyn Meyer. Marilyn is the daughter of Opal and Claire Meyer who’s memorial fund has reached the permanent scholarship level.
Marilyn graduated from BGM in 1961 then went on to St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Cedar Rapids. She has strong feelings about education being the strength of a nation and has strong family ties and would like to help young Iowans to continue furthering their education. Marilyn told the Foundation last year that "Education is vital and never underestimate it’s power." With the cost of education going up each year the foundation has given her the chance to help others seeking to further their education.
The Foundation wants to thank Marilyn Meyer for her contribution. Memorial scholarships are an excellent way for families to honor a loved one while at the same time helping a graduating senior continue their education.
Through your contributions and help there is hope for our students. You can help in making a difference for our students in the years to come.
The annual reports have been mailed by the Foundation. If anyone did not receive one and would like to, please contact the Foundation at PO Box 469.
Anyone wishing to make a contribution to the Foundation please contact Brenda Strong, Board of Trustee representative for the BGM Alumni Association, or any other Board member. You can also write to Box 469, Brooklyn, Iowa 52211.
