NEW RULE BY THE CSF BOARD
The Citizens Scholarship Foundation Board of Directors met for their annual meeting on September 22, 1998. A new ruling was adopted for a less than part-time student.
RULE FOR LESS THAN PART-TIME STUDENT
A full time student is a student who attends classes that will earn credits of 12 hours or more per semester.
A part-time student is a student who attends classes that will earn credits of 6 to 12 hours per semester.
A LESS THAN PART-TIME STUDENT IS
A student who attends classes for less than 6 hours per semester may qualify for using their scholarship as follows:
A.) CSF of BGM will pay directly to the institution of higher learning the sum of fifty percent (50%) of the tuition cost of the courses being taken by the less than part-time student if the following steps are taken by the student:
1.) Notify CSF of BGM that they are a less than part-time student.
2.) Send to CSF of BGM a copy of the actual tuition bill.
B.) The classes being taken must qualify as regular classes of the institution of higher learning and are not considered as being part of "adult education" classes.
C.) The student must continue going to classes on a less than part-time basis. However, the student may go to part-time or full-time and still retain the rights to their remaining scholarship amount.
D.) If a student ceases going to classes for one year, then the balance of their scholarship shall not be paid and the student shall lose the balance of the scholarship.
This rule is effective for the school year beginning fall, 1998.
